Positive: We absolutely loved our stay at La Citadelle. Nadia and Jawad made us feel so comfortable and happy. They were absolutely wonderful with our two-year-old son and adapted meals for him and always thought about what we might need. The property is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The swimming pool was perfect for a toddler with lovely shallow end and we loved exploring the beautiful gardens with the views of the mountains. Nadia and Jawad were so warm and we really enjoyed being given little tours of the gardens, smelling the herbs, playing darts and relaxing. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Negative: Nothing we didn’t like, but remember to buy and bring alcohol in advance of your stay if you can.

Positive: The Citadelle is beyond compare. It is awe inspiring. The exquisite detail both in the exterior stonework and ironwork, and the interior decor really is jaw-droppingly beautiful. The gardens and olive orchards are wonderful. Our suite was the best we have ever stayed in. Our hosts ( and remember this is a maison d’hôtes) Nadia and Jawad were the kindest people you could meet. Nadia served the most delicious, authentic, organic, often home grown dishes every day. Jawad was a font of interesting stories and incredible knowledge of all things horticultural. The guided tour of his herb and spice garden was great. Endless games of pétanque and top tips on how to play were so much fun. Really, I’d rather keep La Citadelle a secret!

Negative: There is nothing not to love!

Summary: Out of this world. I didn’t want to leave.

Positive: The location is wonderful after a few days in Marrakesh this oasis is perfect.The food is all fresh and beautiful cooked Nadia and Jawel are amazing and will arrange anything you may need . Would definitely recommend this beautiful stay.

Positive: A beautiful property with lovely, well maintained grounds. Fabulous food. Quiet and tranquil surroundings. Nadia and Jawaad were the perfect hosts, welcoming and helpful. Sweet, well behaved dogs too! We had a relaxing stay and left much heavier than we arrived. Thank you for allowing us into your beautiful home.

Positive: Breakfast was plentiful and delicious and served outside in the garden. The evening meals are delicious traditional Moroccan style. The swimming pool is fantastic with more than enough sun loungers for everyone. The Riad building looks spectacular from the outside and the interior is amazing. It is like a small castle. One great advantage was that there were no mosquitoes, so we left windows open rather than use the air con. Stunning views of the Atlas mountains from first floor and even more so from the roof top. Nadia arranged 2 trips for us into atlas mountains, to Imlil and Ourika Valley .... Fantastic!
